Thank you all! Your enthusiasm for the L6 Bainite Katana and the 1086 Katana is well placed and appreciated. For the time being Howard will not take on any new commissions. Many years back the wait time for new orders had reached three years. Howard vowed to never have the queue get that long again. So, for now, once again we are closing the queue.
Howard provides blades only in 220 finish. L6 and 1086 Katana are $5000 USD. To be placed in the queue provide the following: 1) Blade length, Sori type and depth, and any other desires for your blade. 2) Your Name, Mailing Address, Phone Number, Email address 3) Pay the $1000 deposit
The balance plus $150 S&H is due when your blade is through final heat treatment.

KNIFE MAKING CLASSES for 2025 are completed. Check back in November for 2026 offerings at Howard Clark’s shop – 115 35th Place, Runnells, IA 50237
All classes run a full week Monday to Friday and are limited to four participants.
In each class working closely with Mastersmith Howard Clark each participant will forge, heat treat, grind and polish at least one knife blade. Construct a handle and finish the knife. Every student will walk away with at least one complete knife.
